Abstract

This study aims to measure the level of skill in butterfly swimming technique in advanced sea-aquatic athletes. The problem faced in this study is that the butterfly swimming technique in experienced sea-aquatic athletes in Padang is still not fully optimal. The sample in this study was advanced sea-aquatic athletes in Padang. The instrument in this study was a movement technique test, namely the butterfly swimming test. The method used was qualitative descriptive using a percentage formula. The butterfly swimming skill test was assessed by three licensed assessors. The results of the study from 3 (three) assessors (jugedment)against 10 samples showed that the swimming movement technique in the butterfly stroke was assessed based on the level of mastery as follows: (1) The level of mastery of body position reached 74.44% with a good classification; (2) The level of mastery of arm movements reached 75.00% with a good classification; (3) The level of mastery of leg movements reached 75.00% with a good classification; and (4) The level of mastery of breathing techniques reached 82.00% with a good classification; and (5) The level of mastery of movement coordination was 80.00% with a good category.
